The gear I use: 3D Printing Edition

I have a fairly decent amount of 3d printing gear, so here is a list of what I use.

This will be a work in progress post, as I have a lot of gear and not enough attention span to list it in one sitting.

This printer is the base of the 3 primary printers I run. Yes, there is a Pro version which has a slightly bigger Y-Axis extrusion, and there is now a v2 version, a MAX vesion.. I didn’t see the benefit of the Pro at the time, and the others did not come out when I started.

  • Not required, but it helps make sure I have no sag with such a heavy hotend. I did need to kick my voltages up a touch on the Z stepper, but I have other mods on that as well.

  • There are better boards, even safer boards, but I have had good luck so far with the SKR lines. For the price, and as long as you do some testing to make sure all is “ok”, I do recommend this setup. It will require an electronics box to be printed as this is not a drop in.

  • Cleaner power can mean a cleaner print. It also means your control boards are not having to filter as much noise.
