New Hobby – 3D Printing

So, it has been a LONG time since I have posted here.

Not much has changed in my life beyond age and health. Yet, I do have a new hobby.

As the title says, 3d printing.

I picked up an Ender 3 as a birthday present back in July, and now I own 3 of them, have a no name printer I found on facebook marketplace for $20, and have a resin printer on the way. Guess you could say, I have gone a little overboard.

My primary printer, the first Ender 3, is modified to the point I am not sure I can call it an Ender 3 anymore. So, I will be making some posts about each of the mods, how I did them, and if I feel it was really worth the work.

First, here is a picture of the beast I have built.

I also control it with a Raspberry Pi 4 running OctoPi with a TON of plugins. Example of what that looks like.

It also is tied into my home automation, oh, another hobby I have not posted about here. That is an OpenHabian install running on another Pi with an Aeotec Z-Wave stick. I will go into that another time.

My current goals are to get to the point I can combine this new hobby with the Shop of WonderZ, which is not open still, and maybe start selling products that combine all of the technologies.

Next post, when I am not sure, will be a gallery of what I have printed so far. Of course, you can also hit me up on Facebook, and some of Twitter, to see what I am actively doing. Most of my printing posts are public.

Finally, yes, I will still be political at times. Yet I have a new goal.

Every political post, no matter what platform, will also have a hobby post to counter it. As politics is not what defines me. I define myself.
