Day of Ash: Saturday Errands

Ah, it’s Saturday morning. That means I crawl my lazy self out of bed, attempt to get dressed and head off to the stores to get the supplies for the next few weeks. Errands await.

Ash kind of gave up on errands when it hit 10:00am, but then he was surprised to see me grabbing my jacket. Off we went.

When at the big box store to pick up some of the supplies, I got a lot of the normal reactions.

“Oh wow! You have him trained to put his feet up so you can put the pack on!”

Umm, yes. As part of his job is to make it so I don’t have to bend over.

“If he was actually a service dog, he wouldn’t be pulling.”

Actually, part of his job is to help me break weight. He helps. I do not have him pulling hardly at all once in motion. Otherwise he would have a proper harness.

“What breed is he?” / “Is he a husky?” / “I used to have a mutt just like him!” / (Insert inane breed reference)

He is an Akita. Purebred, with a purpose.

“You don’t look like you need a service dog.”

You don’t look like your head would fit up your ass.

…..

I did get a lot of people complimenting me as well, so no, it is not all bad. In fact, more people complimented than distracted.

The worst part was the two guys literally screaming and running away in fear when we turned the corner. Ash was concerned they would fall.

Rest of the trip was pretty blah.

Stopped and filled the car up with gas. Freaked the drive thru lady out picking up my guilty fast food pleasure, because Ash gave her this look.

Stopped at the liquor store in Shawnee and picked up some more Kraken rum, and stumbled onto this.

Which I have to say, is on my “Yes, please.” list.

Game was good. Ash hung out with the other dogs and played with the puppies a little.

Really, it was a good day.
