Day of Ash: Ash Wednesday

Always a fun day for Ash, as it’s his day in my eyes.

The morning was again a morning of Ash attempting to wake me up after my alarms went off. Then giving up and falling asleep next to me.

The day was actually pretty normal.

He carried his water bottle around instead of my soda. At one point he dropped it, and then tried to pounce on it. Pulled me off my feet, and as soon as I started my way down, he shifted and pushed me back onto my feet. Stood there looking at me to make sure I was ok, then he carefully picked up the bottle.

We didn’t go out on potty breaks until an hour before we left for work. I got wrapped up in what I was doing, and he didn’t poke me to go out until then. This means I need to train him to poke me every couple hours, so I at least get up and move around.

One oddity is his reaction to my cut knee from the night before. He keeps sniffing it, and then goes back to what ever he was doing. Makes me wonder, if it was to get infected, would his response me.

One the way home was another gas stop, as we are driving around 127 miles one way. It changes a bit depending on the change up in Tulsa.

Day of Ash: Ash Wensday

When we got home, he took my coffee thermos to Julie, and then followed her around trying to get her to take it. She didn’t notice he was holding it and couldn’t figure out why he wasn’t just going outside. When she finally noticed, it was because he stood up on his hind legs to hand it to her.

I then had him run back to the front door where I was, and take the bag that had the dishes from my lunch. He took that all the way to the backdoor and was so excited he wasn’t sure where he should be going. You could see his expression change once he realized he was supposed to give it to Julie.

Of course, this earned him some puppy time. Which he is not giving up for Lent.

That night, he curled up on the bed next to me and set his head just above my cut knee. Making sure none of the other dogs bumped it while I slept.
