Day of Ash: Shocking

Lazy morning for me. I woke up a few times through the night, so getting moving was not easy. Thankfully my wife was up and helped get Ash ready, which she does every morning for me. Yet, this time she was able to get him to do his business, so I didn’t have to stand outside in the front waiting for him.

Day of Ash: Shocking Yeah, it’s not easy getting a picture of him in the dark morning.

Our trip to work was pretty relaxed. No loose dogs, no one trying to run us off the road. To the point I ended up at the office almost 30 minutes early.

Day of Ash: Shocking

Still can’t get a decent morning picture.

Got through our normal routine and heard the papers hit the ground on our way back. Yet security must not of seen us pull into our spot, because he was picking them up by the time we got to the door. Sad Ash.

When we got up to our floor and almost to the cube, I saw one of the managers changing out the paper in the plotter. So I had Ash pick up the garbage that was produced off the floor and hand it to her. Made him and the manager happy, so it’s a win.Day of Ash: Shocking

After that he decided to lay down next to me like yesterday while I got my morning tasks done.

After my morning meeting, Ash came back to the cube and was in a playful mood. Took his pack off and he bounced around a bit, played fetch a couple times with his ring, and then laid down on his cool mat under the desk. Every day he seems to be getting more and more comfortable and happy with being a working dog.

Marine mentioned that he meant to bring in treats for Ash. You know things are working out when co-workers are bringing in treats for your service dog.

On the way to visit the potty area during my lunch break, while in the elevator, the same lady from yesterday got on. She smiled at me, and then jumped right into telling the person she is with, who was about to interact with Ash; “I so want to pet him, but he is working.” It was refreshing, as she stopped the person she was with before it was an issue.

Marine was eating his own afternoon snack and Ash was watching him very intently. Which is interesting, as we don’t allow Ash to beg at home. As Ash had his pack on Marine gave me a piece of the chicken in his chicken salad to give to Ash. Ash did the normal, of taking it gently from my fingers, setting it down and inspecting it, then eating it.

As the day came to a close, a bit earlier than normal, Ash and I got on the road with no real issues. Ash got to hang his head out the window a bit longer than normal because of an accident.

Day of Ash: Shocking

When we stopped for gas, I heard a loud snap sound come from Ash. When I went to pet him to find out why, I got shocked.

Apparently he is a static ball today. Not a good thing to have near the gas fill.

Day of Ash: Shocking

He also apparently blames me.

Day of Ash: Shocking

Which didn’t last long, as he wanted to get home.

Got home, and as I let Ash out of the car he runs to the fence like normal, and then suddenly stops. One of our cats apparently not only got outside, but got herself stuck on the porch roof. After rescuing her, Ash’s priority changed back to puppies.

Of course, after all of that it is time for him to relax with the rest of the hounds while I write this all up.

Day of Ash: Shocking

Until tomorrow.
