Day of Ash: Wasn’t me!

So, I didn’t get a morning picture. We were running a bit late out the door today. So late, that Ash felt we had to go NOW instead of him doing his “business” first. Get in the car, and I hear and odd noise. Look at him, and get the “Wasn’t me!” expression. Knowing full well it was.

As I forgot my jacket, we rush back to the house, and I give him another chance while I get my jacket. He really felt we just had to get going.

We get to work with no more trumpet sounds, and go through our routine. Sadly, being late means no papers for the security guard, but not so late we have to adjust our hours.

Get to the potty spot, a quick pee, back to the car, pack on, and into the elevator we go. Trumpets sound again. No smell thankfully, and again that look.

“Wasn’t me!”

Great.. I can see how this day is going to go.

Yet, it didn’t. That was the last of the trumpets. Rest of the day went fairly well. Went to a couple meetings even. Even a new floor that we have never been on. That confused Ash a little bit.

Work kept me busy pretty much all day, and at 3:15pm, 15 minutes before quitting time, Ash pops up and walks over to me as I am sitting in a chair on the other side of the cube setup helping a co-worker.

He knows the time schedule better than I do.

I finish up what I was doing, and we head out.

While in the elevator, Ash sits next to me so I can lean against him. This time, I was playing with my phone while riding the elevator down. I noticed he was watching me, but didn’t think anything of it. The doors opened, and that is when things went different. Normally, Ash stands up and puts tension on the leash. This time, he just sat there. I said “Ok, go.”, he still just looked at me.

That is when I realized, he was looking at my phone and not me. I held my phone down, he sniffed it and then made a “huff” type sound. Still wouldn’t go though.

So I shrugged, and put my phone back in my shirt pocket. Suddenly, he was up and going.

He didn’t want me reading my phone and walking.

Day of Ash: Wasn't Me!

Part of how I do the pack on and off is with his feet up. This way I don’t have to bend down as much. When I am taking the pack off for him to get into the car, he waits like this until I say the key words. Then he hops into the car and away we go.Day of Ash: Wasn't Me!

When we got to our off ramp, I had to stop and get gas. Of course, I rolled the windows down while I did this, which got me that look. That is his “Why are we stopped?” look. Day of Ash: Wasn't Me!

Of course, he forgives me the moment we start moving again.

We get home and he rushes to the door to be let in. Why? Puppies of course.

After much fighting with YouTube and ShotCut trying to crop the video, I give you a short example of Ash tonight wanting to play mommy.

See you all tomorrow!
